Rest & Digest
Join us on the 2nd Tuesday each month for a FREE, 30 minute, online, lunchtime, relaxation and learning webinar.
The series is called ‘Rest & Digest’, in honour of the part of our nervous system that partners with the better-known ‘Fight or flight’. For many of us, the stress of modern life disrupts the balance of this partnership. We know we don’t feel good when we’re stressed, but over-activating ‘Fight or Flight’ and under-activating ‘Rest & Digest’ also affects the way that we see, respond to and interact with the world (whether we realise it or not). It’s also difficult to extract the nutrients and energy that we need when we grab our lunch whilst still activated in ‘Fight or Flight.’
So these sessions are 30 minutes for you to take it easy, no pressure or expectations, to dial down ‘Fight or Flight’ and dial up ‘Rest & Digest’.
We start with an introduction about ‘Rest & Digest’ and ‘Fight or Flight’, moving into a brief guided relaxation, a few minutes of mindful eating (if you’ve brought your lunch, or just ‘mindfulness’ if not), then I’ll take you through our topic of the day (see topic schedule below), and we’ll finish with a few minutes opportunity for reflections and intention-setting.
